Shotcrew
As a member of the shot crew, you’ll prime and load blast holes, mark up drill patterns and check drilling depths to ensure safe and secure blasting under the supervision of a shotfirer.
Location:
On site – FIFO (WA), DIDO (Peel Region, South West WA)
A typical day in the life:
- Pre-start inspections of equipment before blasting begins
- Helping to maintain explosive magazines and compounds and ensuring enough stock is on hand
- Making sure all blasting practices are in line with industry regulations and client requirements
- Priming and loading blast holes, marking up drill patterns and checking drilling depths
- Making sure documents and reporting are completed accurately and on time
- Carrying out general tasks including stocktakes and store duties, cleaning and organising work areas
Skills, experience and qualifications that will help you in this role include:
- Dangerous goods security card
- C Class manual driver’s licence, with heavy rigid or above highly desirable
- Current senior first aid certificate
- Over 18 years of age
- 4×4 drivers course
