Supervisor or Leading Hand
As a supervisor or leading hand, you’ll support the project manager in managing the day to day running of the project, coordinating crews, equipment and drilling activity.
Location: On site – Peel (DIDO), Gascoyne (FIFO) or Pilbara (FIFO)
A typical day in the life:
- Provide leadership and direction and share knowledge with crews
- Support crews to achieve KPIs
- Lead pre-start/ toolbox talks for your crew and make sure handovers are completed
- Assist with site establishment, mobilisation and demobilisation
- Drive ideas for continuous improvement around productivity, efficiency and safety
- Keep clients up to date with project progress and attend client meetings
- Help to plan drilling activities to keep the project on schedule
- Work with HSET and Training departments to help roll out training and career advancement programs
- Help out with general duties, keeping work areas clean and organised
Skills, experience and qualifications that will help you in this role include:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience of drilling functions at site and supervisory level
- Heavy rigid truck licence
- Current senior first aid certificate
- Safety management and leadership skills
- Certificate III in Drilling
- BSB41415 – Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (within two years of operation)
- BSB42015 – Certificate IV in Leadership and Management
