During October, we asked JSW employees to show their support for Mental Health Week and Beyond Blue (an organisation dedicated to helping everyone achieve their best mental health) by donating to our fundraising page or by taking part in our online auction.

A pair of Steel Blue boots signed by sporting legends, former West Coast Eagles player Glen Jakovich and cricketer, Dennis Lillee and a framed West Coast Eagles guernsey signed by the entire 2017 team was up for grabs in the auction.

James Thomson, Supervisor at our Solomon project took home the Steel Blue boots and Luke Fletcher, Drill & Blast Supervisor was the highest bidder of the signed guernsey.

JSW pledged to match the winning bids, bringing the combined total donated to Beyond Blue to $1,400.

Thank you to all who generously donated throughout October. All proceeds from the donations page and winning bids will help Beyond Blue to continue their work in breaking the stigma around mental health and making a difference in the lives of those who may be impacted by anxiety, depression and suicide.

Solomon showing their support

The crew at Solomon also showed their support by donning blue hi-vis shirts as a means of raising awareness and starting the conversation around mental health.
