JSW crews at South32’s Boddington mine set a new production drilling record in May, safely achieving an outstanding 200% of target over a 24 hour period.
This milestone achievement was a result of the hard work and dedication of five shifts, consisting of three day shift and two night shift crews over a 24 hour period. The crews operated three rigs.
Favourable conditions on site assisted the crews in this achievement, with all rigs on the same shot, good ground and minimal breakdowns, thanks to the meticulous work of the maintenance crew.
This accomplishment breaks the previous record set at Boddington back in 2017.
Multiple crew members also achieved standout personal best metres across May, June and July.
The team received gift vouchers in recognition of their efforts and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace at all times.
